What is The Last Dragon?
Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon is a cult classic martial arts film that hit theatres on March 22, 1985. It has captivated audiences for decades. Directed by Michael Schultz and written by Louis Venosta, the film stars Taimak, Vanity, Julius J. Carry III, and Christopher Murney. The film tells the story of Leroy Green/Bruce Leroy, a martial arts student on a quest to reach the highest level of martial arts mastery, known as “The Last Dragon” and obtain the mysterious glow. It is a wonderful blend of entertaining martial arts, action, fantasy, romance, music, urban 80’s culture, and comedy. Its underlying themes echo the philosophical concept of self-realization and the transformative power that comes from within.
